CHAT – Community Health Assessment Team

CHAT is a national outreach and mental health check programme under the Institute of Mental Health (IMH).


A group of healthcare professionals dedicated to promoting:

Awareness of mental health;
Access to mental health resources; and to
Assess, by providing a free and confidential mental health check for young persons between 16 and 30 years old.

Mental Health Check

CHAT provides free and confidential mental health checks for individuals aged 16 to 30-years old. Each mental health check session lasts about an hour, and involves a doctor and youth worker. Sessions are conducted at CHAT Hub  (*SCAPE #05-05). You may call to make an appointment, or drop by CHAT Hub Tuesdays to Saturdays (12pm-9pm). 

Mental health checks are usually complete within two weeks of contacting CHAT.

Talks and Workshops

CHAT provides talks and workshops for youths and young working adults, as well as professionals working with young people. This includes school and community counsellors, youth workers, social workers, and mental health workers.
